My name is Corlette Douglas I'm a African American illustrator  born and raised in Brooklyn.  At a very young age I knew that I wanted to do nothing else but draw all day as a career, so when the time came to go off to college I decided to go to Fashion Institute of Technology and take 4 years of illustration as my Major. After leaving I found that I had a  love for  creating fun colorful pieces not only for myself but for most of my clients I work with. At the end of the day I try to put a little of myself in each idea I create whether that be a little African American girl wearing for twin poofs with lots of silly barrettes in her hair , two sisters having fun and playing on one page and having a fight on the other leaving them to make up and hug it out by the end or just drawing cute personified grizzly bears in human clothing , no matter what I like to depict a whimsical childlike atmosphere.
